KPI Integration
The Covalent Integration module allows customers to automatically extract data from another third-party business system, so users can view and report that data from within Covalent.
For instance, you might want to take data from an existing business system used to calculate performance indicators, and import that data directly to Covalent.
- Achieve cost savings by streamlining business processes and the complexity of maintaining multiple front-end interfaces.
- Improve information management with a centralised database and data compilation.
- Better overall corporate decision-making with an instant, real-time view of all data and operations.
- No need to replace legacy systems, so data and functionality embodied in existing applications is not lost.
The Covalent Integration module is comprised of two components:
The Interface
The interface that allows a third party application to post PI data values directly into Covalent via a web service.
The Middleware Application
The software that communicates with the third party data source and Covalent.
Using Covalent Software and integrating it with our housing system removes the human element from getting the data into Covalent. It's allowed us to have a lot more confidence in the data. Now we get one answer and it's the right one.
With data automation - and nobody inputting anything - we've got from three indicators to around 700. What it means for management is that they can drill down into a problem and fix it very quickly.
Covalent to us really means that we are able to manage our performance rather than monitor it and that's key for us as a business. From an IT perspective, the best benefit is that the first response to a performance question is no longer, "IT will get your figure", it's now, "The figure is already in Covalent".
