Peter founded Covalent in May 2003 with a vision of building Covalent into one of the UK's leading software companies by 2013. Having spent 15 years working in software companies, running a consulting business specialising in software, and publishing his first book, Making it Big in Software, in July 1999, he decided it was time to do it for real. Covalent's mission is, “To surprise customers by delivering on our promises to improve business performance with innovative, effective software.” The closest Peter ever got to using his BEng in Chemical Engineering is in the naming of this company!

Sarah Jackaman was the first Covalent employee, and now manages everything to do with keeping the office ticking over and our staff contented.
Elaine Fields runs the day-to-day business accounts, including working through all those untidy expenses claims. Elaine has recently achieved a First Class qualification in Sage Accounting Level 3 making her our in-house Sage expert!
Sarah Porcas manages the sales support function, covering a variety of different markets, and keeps the sales people on their toes! Sarah joined Covalent having completed a year's travelling around Australasia so is hopeful our market expansion may one day move East.
Roisin Littlewood handles all our sales activity in the Councils market, where she has a long track record of success. Her ambition is to get some Covalent customers in mountainous terrain with lots of snow about so she can indulge her real passion - skiing!
Charlie Paramore joined the Covalent team fresh out of college and has now taken over from Neil as our youngest employee. Charlie has joined the sales support team and will be initially focusing on telesales to the health sector.
Andy Gascoigne manages the Projects and Implementations team. Andy has extensive experience supporting and managing IT projects in a wide cross section of customer situations. He has strong technical skills (with a BSc in Computer Studies) and is very enthusiastic about the benefits technology can bring customers. Oh, and Andy is a gadgets guy!
Vickie Jones' move to Covalent was a big move as she was 19 years with her previous employer, where she fulfilled a wide variety of IT roles. For Covalent, Vickie arranges our project 'kick off meetings', project manages implementations and creates our new customers sites, uploading all the data. We look forward to Vickie beating her previous 'time served' record in 2025!
Jon Richards manages the customer support function, having worked in a variety of IT development and support roles prior to joining Covalent in August 2005. Jon is an eternal optimist i.e. he is an Aston Villa supporter.
Paul Yabsley, a computing graduate, joined Covalent as a Customer Support Executive in early 2006, Paul works on the helpdesk, logging and dealing with all our customers issues. A star player for the local Taunton Tigers basketball team, Paul ensures he keeps up a healthy work/play balance.
Robin Warren, BEng Computer Systems Engineering. An experienced and pragmatic developer with a wide range of skills across the software development life cycle, with particular expertise in Java and SQL development. Robin has always worked on customer facing high availability systems including both working on and later supporting large enterprise Java systems.
David McGlashan is a programmer with a top class academic record and working experience that includes Geneva-based CERN. He is well versed in many of the intricacies of JAVA programming. Oh, and he's very good at solving puzzles so if you've got one send it to david.mcglashan@covalentsoftware.com
Jonn Farr manages all of the website and web-based development. He also specialises in Java development and developing any interfaces required for third party systems to automatically synchronise data with Covalent. In his spare time, Jonn does a variety of Web stuff - see WebMe website design & development.
Neil Barnes is no longer our youngest employee, he joined Covalent straight out of university; he works in a supporting role to the other programmers - i.e. he does all the work!
Paul Fox worked as a software developer prior to for Covalent and also as IT manager for one of the country's leading charity fundraising agencies. Paul is now responsible for the development of the Covalent reports module and general development of the application.
Tricia White has many hats to wear working at Covalent. Tricia is our HR Manager, our Strategic Account Manager and provides ad-hoc training support to Pippa, among other things! Tricia has an honours degree in Economics & Politics, is a qualified CIPD trainer and brings experience of public sector, having operated in a number of roles for the Child Support Agency over a 5 year period.
Pippa Fowler joined Covalent as a Software Trainer in mid 2007. Pippa has an MA in Information Science and 'lots' of years experience of IT training in blue chip organisations from BT to M&S. She enjoys 'cloud watching' and is slowly inducting other members of the team into this peaceful activity!
Geraint Jones, aka Gerry, is responsible for software testing and acts in a complementary role for Customer Support, investigating all reported bugs. With all his working life spent in IT, Geraint knows about all aspects of a software operation, interface design to software testing.
Ashley Duckett joined Covalent in early 2007, having graduated from university with a degree in Multimedia Computing. Ash carries out testing on all new Covalent releases and assists the help desk in the investigation of customer issues. Ash has already gained himself the title of 'creator of the longest PI feeder formula, ever!'
